I’ve got no interest in that dang book of yours. I read the review by that Mrs. Rennels in a cab and it confirmed everything I believe about race. Everything I know to be true.  I make an exception for Margery. Maybe it takes more than one drop of white. But she’s being raised as a white girl and believes she’s a white girl and everyone around her thinks so too.  She’s got white friends and the only family she has left is white, and she thinks her mama was white. She doesn’t know anything else. That makes her as good as white to me.  She’s got far more than one drop as far as I’m concerned.
